Family, Friends & Fellow Officers Remember...

I am at a huge loss for words over this tragic situation. I had heard on the news that a deputy assigned to the STARS center had died in an automobile accident on his way to work. I did not expect to know this deputy as I had participated in the reserve academy which is held after the full-time academy has concluded for the day. I was floored when I heard the news it was Deputy David Piquette. He taught our force training block of instruction over an eight week period. This is truly an enormous loss on both a personal and professional level. Deputy Piquette was a powerhouse on the mat and many recruits admired his defensive skills and ability to make his skills look effortless. Many recruits would gather around during breaks and listen to the many stories Deputy Piquette had to offer. He was very passionate about his job and went to great measures to ensure we all "got it."

I want to extend my deepest condolences to his wife and two children. This sudden tragedy will undoubtedly be a hard one to overcome. You no doubt have the support and prayers of many people as we are all grieving with you. My condolences also go the the staff of the force training bureau. It was very apparent that they were all close personal and professional friends. This news is hard for me and I only knew him as my instructor...I feel for you all as you endure the loss of a husband, father, son, and friend.

God bless Deputy David Stan Piquette! Thank you sir for your dedication and professionalism...you may never know how many lives you have touched in your journey. Rest assured there are many people grieving over your untimley passing.

Not only did you leave a everlasting impression in my mind but you also left an everlasting impression on the entire department.
