God did not tell us to follow Him because he needed our help, but because he knew that loving Him would make us whole. You are whole once again, Officer Cook. Your soul traveled to heaven as a whole component of your being. Your physical abilities were far superior than other officers and your wisdom more mature than others. I'm sure your maturity is sorely missed among the ranks of your peers and they regret not having your keen intellect guiding them each day. There are two days in the week about which I never worry. Two carefree days, kept sacredly from fear and apprehension. One of these days is yesterday-and the other is tomorrow. You lived your life for the moment, Officer Cook. Nothing as we know is to be taken for granted. We understand this and certainly men and women as brave as you were understood this when they decided to become police officers. You looked forward to having your first weekend off to spend time with Karen, It's sad, but we can always remember the good times you spent with her and your family and friends. Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It's wonderful what happens when God displaces worry at the center of your life. We never had to concern ourselves, Officer Cook, when you did your job. Each shade of color, each facet of light displays the radiant spectrum of God's love-a promise that life can be new for each one of us. In your profession, Officer Cook, you had to blend in your talents with various officers, of all races, creeds and nationalities. This is what makes a police department functional, responsible and reliable, allowing it to handle the various calls that its officers are sent out into the streets to answer. Even before He made the world, God loved us and chose us in His name to be holy and without fault in His eyes. God decided to advance to adopt us into His own family by bringing us to Himself through Him. This is what He wanted to do and it gave Him great pleasure. So we praise God for the glorious grace He has poured out on us who belong to Him as His dear children. He is so rich in kindness and grace that He purchased our freedom with His blood and forgave our sins. He has showered His kindness on us, along with all the wisdom and understanding.
