Reflections for Police Officer Kyle Russell Ballard
As your memorial draws near, I remember the last time I hugged you as you left AZ.
You, Laurie and the boys were such a beautiful family. Laurie has done a great job Kyle and you would be so proud of her.

I've been thinking so much about you. I cherish daily and forever the beautiful years we were able to share together, beginning middle and sad end. Everyday I see you in all 3 boys. They are doing things you used to do and things you would love! I know you'd be immensely proud of them. I miss you so much, so so so much.
Mike and the girls will be at the river with us this week. I already know how much I'm going to be picturing you there with us, but then it's not the same without you. We are supposed to all be together :( Until then, our love for you stays alive.

Kyle,
You popped up in my head yesterday. I want you to know you are not forgotten, and always missed. I thought of you while I was talking to another officer. You truly had so much integrity.

There's not a river trip or a desert trip or a day that goes buy that I don't think about you. You made us all better just for being around. You've got so much to be proud of, and your family is proof everyday of that. We all have your back because I know you have ours. And as much as I know you would cringe to hear me say it, I love ya brother...

Wish heaven had a phone so I could hear your voice again. I thought of you today, but that is nothing new. I thought about you yesterday, and days before that too. I think of you in silence, I often speak your name. All I have are memories and a picture in a frame. Your memory is a keepsake, from which I'll never part. God has you in his arms~I have you in my heart.
We are doing good Kyle *sniff*. Owen turned 5 yesterday. He starts Kindergarten on Monday. I hate they can't be with you. But I stay focused on the amazing people in our lives...Ryan, Mike, Jesse, SES past and present, your friends, the dept, our families, and my friends have all been incredible blessings and positive influences. I am so grateful. I love you!

I can't believe it's been 4 years. It's almost like it was yesterday, just a little less painful. I am proud to say that Laurie and the boys are doing GREAT. You would be so proud. Owen reminds me most of you...his grin, his temper, and is enthusiasm. Andrew has your fire and Ethan has your drive. Laurie is my inspiration...she never gives up. We are are so fortunate to have had you for the time that we did. I will never forget. Until we meet again.

I miss being around your strong spirit! Thank you for being so proud of me and caring so much about me. You would not believe how fun the boys are, this is the age you were so looking forward to. They are passionately into fishing, trapping, building, sports, and riding! You'd be in heaven wrestling with them! Oh, wait, you already are..haha! And school...so on top of it! It really takes a village, and I have some amazing people in my life. We continue to honor you Kyle, tomorrow and Saturday and forever!
In loving thoughts, prayers, and memories, Laurie

Kyle,
Some of the best memories of my childhood were spent with you and all our close neighborhood friends. You guys were always brothers to me encouraging me to always do better, always play fairly, and always remember the important things in life that we sometimes forget as adults. It has been years since I last saw you, but you and your dad always had more of an impact on my young life than I knew at the time. Thanks for everything. See you later.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the third anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Laurie, I read your wedding vows and they were so beautiful and heartfelt. Thank you for sharing your wonderful love story with us. Death end a life, not a relationship. Your approach to life is inspiring. How you must miss Kyle's glorious smile. You and your three little troopers are in my heart's embrace today.
Rest In Peace, Kyle.

Happy Anniversary Kyle! It would have been 9 years (12 years from when we first met)!! I'm just glad for the times we had and how highly we thought of eachother and how much we got to talk. There's soooo much going on I wish I could tell you. I don't know why this year all the holidays are harder then the last 2 years. Your warrior spirit keeps us strong and is always remembered.
