Yesterday, Officer Cook, I met a gentleman named Irving Heller and for forty-five years he was employed with the Metro-Dade Police Department. He worked his way up the ranks and was the director at some point in his long public service career. You ascension may very well have happened if not for being taken by violence at the evil hands of a wayward man. Dade County was served by a loyal and esteemed man of integrity, honesty, dignity and character all the articles of faithfulness, resourcefulness and trusted and true allegiance. You will always be remembered and saluted for versatility, vision and virtue which surrounded your unselfish heart and soul at every moment.
